Upper Mustang 12 days Tour
Upper Mustang Tour is an exploration of the fascinating medieval Himalayan Kingdom. It is an exploration of the concealed valleys of upper Mustang in Nepal. It’s located between Tibet and in the Himalayas of Nepal which is a place different from the rest of the world. It’s rich in culture and nature. The place is known as a part of southern part of Tibet land. The people who live in Lomanthnag is known as a Lowa and the language what they speak is also called Lowa language and Lowa culture. There are so many old and traditional monasteries. The people occupation is traditionally agriculture and mountain animal husbandry.
Upper Mustang trekking in Nepal was officially opened in 1992. Particularly limited numbers of trekkers are only allowed each year with limited time because of protecting and conserving the local Tibetan tradition and the fragile environment. Upper Mustang trekking is one of the best treks to do even in the monsoon season in Nepal. We can do trekking and jeep tour both now. The best advantage of doing this cultural trek in monsoon time is that the village are full of local people busy at their everyday works. Furthermore, the whole region are in bloom which makes really a fabulous contrast with the wind-eroded hills, red cliffs and snow-capped mountains on the background. Thus upper Mustang trek is once in a lifetime destination to explore the Tibetan kingdom of Lo-Manthang.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Airport pick up and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: kathmandu to pokhara by jeep or Tourist bus. Approx. 6/7 hours. Pohara Exploration in the evening.
Day 3: Pokhara to Thansang village by jeep. Approx. 6/7 hours
Day 4: Kalapani to hike Guru Rinpoche secrect cave Guru Sangphuk after driving to Dumba laka and Kuchhe Ternga Monastery, then Muktinath exploration after that back to Kagbeni by jeep Aprox. 6/7 hrs
Day 5: Kagbeni to Chhusang and hiking to Narsing Khola for exloration the salt water then continue driving to Syangmochhen by jeep Aprox. 6/7 hrs
Day 6: Syangmochhen to Chungsi cave, Gilling village, Dakmar and Charang to Yara by jeep. Evening exploration to Luri cave and stupa. Aprox. 7/8 hrs.
Day 7: Yara – Charang- Marang for 8th century Ghar gumba exploration and Lomanthang. Aprox. 5/6 hrs
Day 8: Explorations days in lomanthang like Koncholing, Jhong cave, Niphu, gharphu and ancient human settleman cave. Approx. 6/7 hrs
Day 9: Explorations days in lomanthang Nomad people settlement area and back to Syangmochhe. Approx. 6/7 hrs
Day 10: Syangmochhe to Lubra village for exploration of Bon monastery and driving to Tatopani. Approx. 6/7 hrs
Day 11: Tatopani to Pokhara. Approx. 4/5 hrs.
Day 12: Pokhara to Kathmandu. Approx. 7/8 hrs
